The first BIGSAS Colloquium of this year will happen today, Thursday, 30 January 2025 between 16:00 and 16:45 (There will be a mentor lecture right afterwards!) in the Knowledge Lab of the Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence in S58, RWI as well as online via Zoom.

One Junior Fellow will give insights in his research project: Augustine Gyan  “From ‘Cash-Cow’ into Electioneering Machine? Navigating the Changing Materialities of Gold in Ghana”.

Furthermore, the lecture by Prof. Dr Nathan Andrews (McMaster University, Canada) about “Understanding the Meaning of “Extractive Bargains” and its Implications for Global Extractivism and Post-Extractivism” will happen right afterwards at 16:45/17:00 in the same room.
